Abstract: 200-500 words
Bishōjo, literally "beautiful girl", is a Japanese term for a beautiful young girl, usually below young adult age, is always read as a sex symbol under Japanese and Asian culture. Bishojo game, or gal game, is a type of narrative video game centered on interactions with attractive virtual girls. This type of game is a uniquely Japanese phenomenon, holding its own growth unrelated to the Western world. This paper aims to explore how fictional gender symbols come into play, and how can personified AI agents influence the psychological activity of players through text-based interactions, includes the development of the research project called Bishojo simulator. Bishojo simulator is a social network simulator where the player is the only human along with the fictional specie: virtual AI bishojo, and the player’s comments and messages will influence girls’ life. Each bishojo will have a distinct personality, and she will share posts about her daily life here. Players can comment and get more closer to her, even send direct messages when she gets more familiar with them. To find new possibilities of AI-empowered interactions in play, bishojo’s posts and messages are generated by trained models through machine learning.
