- There are thousands of ecological artists currently at work on projects that will bring attention to, or embark upon environmental solutions. One of the biggest environmental, social, and planetary issues is that of the Earth's lifeblood - water: water quality, water availability, and water rights (especially so with each passing year of climate change and human population rise). Climate change, rerouted, polluted, or pumped dry water sources result in degraded changes in the environment and living conditions of ALL populations on both land and sea. Concern for survival motivates and inspires ecological artists to look hard at situational catalysts and incorporate remediative measures into their artistic practices. These practices often include scientific collaboration, site-specific access, and access to scientific research, as well as active collaboration within a community whose inhabitants' lives and areas of expertise touch upon or even produce the catalysts.
