- The aim of this project is to depict motion in static sculpture. It includes four sculptures created with 3D animation software and rapid prototyping technology. The shape of the sculptures are derived from different animations of a single female figure: punching, kicking, falling back and falling down. In the final form, the figure’s shape completely fills the space that she had been animated to move within a segment of time, so that the arc of the motion defines the form of the sculpture, combining an appearance of realism with abstraction.
