- This master thesis will try to stand a theoretical and practical approach into the understanding of time phenomena. We focus on the abstract representation of time in moving images that are manipulated with interactive interfaces. The representation of time had been always a big challenge in the artistic and scientific domain. Now, digital interfaces set new paradigms that can affect our time understanding and the conventions upon it’s meaning are build. We did an interdisciplinary summary that tries to understand how the western mental model of time is addressed in interactive applications. We present the state of the art that will sustain the future research and the two experiments that we performed in order to validated our hypothesis in time phenomena understanding in interactive moving images.
