- In his Master’s Thesis, Mr. Markku Lappalainen documents the design process of a board game and sets out to reflect on the design decisions made. He starts with a specific goal of designing a game where social interaction is at the heart of game play. Furthermore, he contextualises his task to game development challenges in a more general sense by arguing that exercises in board game design can help in understanding the traits of social interaction that have been lacking from digital online multiplayer games. The research and design problems are well set and relevant, and the approach to game design challenges via board game design lends the thesis originality.
